A federal grand jury in Wichita, Kansas, has indicted a postal worker for stealing thousands of pieces of mail. The 59-year-old employee allegedly took mail meant for customers in and around Pittsburg, Kansas. The indictment includes a specific charge for stealing nearly 400 political flyers for Republican candidates.

Kelly R. One charge of unlawful mail secretion, destruction, and delay confronts Cram. Agents found no mailers for any other political party at her home. This stark detail comes directly from the Department of Justice statement released regarding the case.

The investigation began after officials noticed a pattern of missing mail. The Department of Justice outlined the specific accusations in a formal statement. “Beginning in October 2026, Cram is accused of stealing 4,404 pieces of mail that were intended to be delivered to customers in and around Pittsburg, Kansas,” said the Department of Justice (DOJ) in a statement, according to RedState.

Investigators searched Cram’s residence and found a large stash of stolen items. They discovered that the stolen mail was not random. “Among the mail items she allegedly stole and placed in her garage were nearly 400 political mailers solely related to Republican candidates or Republican Party-affiliated political action committees,” the statement read, according to Breitbart.

The search yielded a very clear result regarding the political nature of the theft. “Agents found no mailers related to candidates of any other political party at Cram’s residence,” the DOJ noted, according to Fox News. This finding suggests a targeted effort rather than general theft.

Cram is a native of Baxter Springs, Kansas. Her role as a postal worker gave her access to the very mail she is now accused of stealing. The U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General is currently investigating the incident.

Court documents confirm the legal steps taken against her. According to court documents, Kelly R. Indicted for one count of unlawful mail secretion, destruction, and delay is Cram, 59, of Baxter Springs. The grand jury in Wichita returned the indictment today, charging her with these serious offenses.

The sheer volume of stolen mail is difficult to ignore. Over 4,400 pieces of mail were allegedly taken from their intended path. This represents a significant breach of trust in the delivery system.

The Postal Service has a long-standing promise to deliver mail regardless of the weather or time. The organization states that nothing should stop couriers from their appointed rounds. However, this case shows that internal theft can bypass those safeguards.

Cram now faces federal charges for her actions. Prosecution oversight falls to the U.S. Attorney for the District of Kansas. The Department of Justice will present the evidence to a court to prove the charges.
