During his weekend remarks at the White House, President Joe Biden once again demonstrated his inability to connect with the American people.
As he spoke alongside Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar, Biden was caught demanding that the audience clap for him. This cringeworthy moment exemplifies Biden’s lack of charisma and leadership skills, which is troubling for our nation’s future.
During the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, a holiday significant for Irish people in America, Biden couldn’t resist the opportunity to draw attention to himself. As he discussed the diplomatic ties between Ireland and the United States, Biden insisted that the audience clap for his statements.
“We celebrate the bonds of our friendship today connecting millions of Irish Americans and American people,” Biden said. “We celebrate the friendship between the two nations — one that has shaped our past, strengthened our present and inspires our future.”
“Ireland now is one of the top ten investors in the United States economy,” Biden said. “And our countries stand proudly for liberty and against tyranny. We stand together and oppose Russia’s brutal war of aggression in Ukraine. You can clap for that, please.”

Furthermore, during his meeting with Varadkar last week, Biden praised Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s speech attacking Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This is another example of Biden’s lack of judgment and inability to form diplomatic relationships with world leaders.
By praising Schumer’s speech, Biden has shown that he is not committed to strengthening the relationship between the United States and Israel, a key ally in the Middle East. This is concerning for our nation’s foreign relations and security.
Biden’s handlers also aggressively herded the press out of the room after he made these comments, further highlighting his lack of transparency and reluctance to face difficult questions.
