When Joe Biden headed out onto the campaign trail all those months ago, he made a great many promises to the American people, not the least of which had to do with being a great “uniter”.
Biden told us all that he was ready to move past Donald Trump, and be a President for “all Americans”. In fact, the canned line was uttered during nearly every stump speech he gave in the waning days of his campaign.
But, thanks to some serious prodding from the liberal left, Biden has been anything but a healer. Instead, he has allowed the Democratic Party target Trump, his family, and his acquaintances nearly nonstop since taking office.
This week, Biden may find himself with another way to sic the feds on No. 45.
The National Archives has asked the Department of Justice to investigate former President Donald Trump’s handling of White House records, according to a source familiar with the matter.
The source said the Archives is seeking a review of whether Trump violated the Presidential Records Act, which requires that all records created by presidents be turned over to the National Archives at the end of their administrations, and other possible violations, including the handling of classified information.
It is not clear if the Justice Department will launch a formal investigation, as a vast majority of referrals to the department do not end up sparking a formal investigation. The Justice Department declined to comment.
The news comes just days after it was revealed that officials from the National Archives had “raided” Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago complex in Florida, in order to retrieve some of the aforementioned documents.
