In a recent address, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh called for civilians to die in Israel’s strikes against Hamas inside Gaza.
The address comes after Hamas committed war crimes when they used civilians as human shields and lied about events that have come to light such as the lie that Israel bombed a hospital.
Haniyeh, speaking in a public address captured by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), accused Israel of conducting a “new holocaust” against Palestinians in Gaza. However, he also stated that the blood of Palestinian civilians, including women, children, and the elderly must awaken the ‘revolutionary’ spirit.
“I call on everybody – all the free people of the world, all the friendly countries, all the brotherly [Arab] countries, and all the allies – to exert all the necessary pressure, in all directions and in all forums, in order to end the aggression against Gaza, to stop this war against our children, women, and elderly, our mosques, our universities, and our homes,” he said. “This brutal aggression must stop. This new holocaust must stop.”

It is essential to note that the situation in Gaza is highly contentious, with conflicting narratives and a history of violence on both sides. Israel has asserted that it is responding to the indiscriminate rocket attacks and terrorist activities by Hamas, a group designated as a terrorist organization by several countries, including the United States and the European Union.
The recent surge in violence was triggered by a large-scale terrorist attack carried out by Hamas on October 7, which left more than 1,400 Israelis dead, over 5,200 wounded, and hundreds held hostage. These figures include disturbing reports of atrocities, such as beheadings, the burning of infants, and sexual violence against women.

The conflict has prompted strong international reactions, with various nations and organizations expressing concern over the civilian casualties and urging both parties to de-escalate. The United Nations and other international bodies have called for an immediate ceasefire and the resumption of peace talks to resolve the long-standing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
