The unkempt and prolific political discrimination that we see in America today is not only disheartening, but dangerous as well.
We The People are moving ever closer to the brink of civility, thanks in no small part to the incessant “resistance” and their carte blanche hatred for Donald Trump. Combined with the dog whistles of the mainstream media and their Hollywood counterparts, there is an all too viable path to violence just over the horizon here in the United States – something that we’ve already experienced on a baseball field in Virginia just two weeks after Kathy Griffin posed for her now-infamous “decapitated Trump” photoshoot.
Now, even luminary journalist Dan Rather is adding his voice to the anti-Trump tirades, claiming that the followers of the President are engaged in cult-like activity.
On Sunday’s broadcast of CNN’s “Reliable Sources,” former CBS News anchor Dan Rather called President Donald Trump’s following a “cult,” adding it was “all about him, it’s not about a policy.”
When asked if Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is part of the Trump cult, Rather said, “Yes. The short answer is yes. Increasingly President Trump’s support seems cultish. It’s all about him, it’s not about a policy, it’s not the standards of politics. Ronald Reagan had a very solid following but he stood for something in terms of policy. Franklin Roosevelt, same way. These cults, cults generally don’t end well. People will say it’s too much to say it’s a cult. I don’t think so. The further we go, it is always all about him. It’s not about a policy.”
The irony is palpable here, with Rather uttering such uncouth gibberish on a television program entitled Reliable Sources.
