When we talk about the “deep state”, we are talking about the dark and dank corners of the Washington Swamp, where the muck has congealed into a conspiratorial cabal of cretinous criminal activity. This is a secret society of sorts, existing at the intersection of politics and the mob, working to pull the strings of the men whom we believed are already pulling the strings.
This clandestine group, with their illuminati vibes, don’t care much for Donald Trump. You see, he’s an outsider. And outlier. He’s the man who claimed that he was coming to Washington to put them out of their misery.
And so they lashed out. They began a campaign against the elected President, claiming he was some sort of Kremlin asset. They even attempted to take down some of his acquaintances…like Michael Flynn.
This week, Flynn’s fate was finally announced, and it felt a bit like the Deep State script was flipped.
A federal appeals court Wednesday ordered a judge to dismiss the charge against President Donald Trump’s former national security advisor Michael Flynn, who had pleaded guilty to lying to FBI agents.
The 2-1 ruling by the panel of appellate judges stressed the power of the Department of Justice, which has sought to drop its prosecution of Flynn, to make criminal charging decisions given its status as part of the executive branch.
The ruling came in response to a request for a so-called writ of mandamus, or judicial directive, from Flynn’s lawyers.
Flynn is a somewhat central figure in the Qanon conspiracy mythos, and his newfound freedom will undoubtedly by linked to some vague, purportedly foretelling passage from a faraway internet message board.
