Democratic Lawmaker Ignores Social Distancing Guidelines to Get Haircut

While our fight against COVID-19 certainly isn’t an easy one, it’s really not all that hard either.

Think about it:  All we have to do is stay home.  This isn’t a “grab your bug-out bag and start hiking” situation.  This is one of those “borrow some money if you have to and eat more pasta”-kinda things.  This is the sort of problem that could be 100% completely fixed by the government – if they wanted to – with the stroke of a pen.

And despite the fact that it’s ostensibly easy to deal with COVID-19 in this sense, we still have some so-called “leaders” out there setting terrible examples for their constituents.

Getting your roots done isn’t essential, but getting your hair cut apparently is — at least if you’re the mayor of Chicago.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot Monday defended getting her hair cut over the weekend at a time when beauty parlors are shut down.

The mayor couldn’t help but acknowledge it after photos surfaced on social media showing her after getting her hair cut without wearing a mask.

“I’m in the public every day. And candidly, my hair was not looking the way it did. I thought maybe I’d do it myself, but I knew that would be disaster,” the mayor said.

“But I think what really people want to talk about is, we’re talking about people dying here. We’re talking about significant health disparities. I think that’s what people care most about.”

This is precisely the sort of “do as I say, not as I do” behavior that voters equate with Hillary Clinton, the former Secretary of State who was implicated in a scheme to rig the 2016 Democratic primaries against Bernie Sanders.
