Democrats Turn on Biden in Latest Poll Regarding Document Scandal

Americans this weeks have been lamenting evidence of a rather profound double standard in Washington DC, and a new poll proves just how uncomfortable they are with it all.

It all began when President Joe Biden was found to have a serious number of classified government documents strewn about his various properties, including boxes in his Delaware home next to his Corvette.

Of course, the gist of the controversy mirrors that of the August incident involving former President Donald Trump, except that Biden’s mess is far more serious and widespread. Despite this, there have been no armed FBI raids on Biden’s properties, and the White House appears to be ready to sweep this all under the rug.

As it turns out, this is not what Americans want…including Democrats.

A new Yahoo News/YouGov poll finds that nearly two-thirds of U.S. adults (64%) favor Congress “investigating the classified documents found at [President] Biden’s home and post-vice-presidential office” — including a majority of Democrats (52%).

And also:

Just 16% of Americans — and 27% of Democrats — oppose such an investigation.

This broad bipartisan consensus represents unwelcome news to the White House, which has struggled over the last two weeks to manage a steady drip of revelations about additional documents discovered in various locations — revelations that echo the ongoing clash between former President Donald Trump and federal authorities over the “highly classified” materials seized from his Mar-a-Lago estate in 2022.

Furthermore, the survey wondered if Americans found Biden’s offenses to be “less serious” than Trump’s, and only a minority of those polled seemed to suggest such a disparity.

Biden had been planning to make a 2024 reelection announcement in the coming weeks, according to sources close to the President, but the severity of this scandal will almost certainly force an adjustment to that schedule.
