Democrats unleash another round of high level subpoenas tied to impeachment inquiry

It appears as thought the hysteria surrounding this “formal impeachment inquiry” isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

As UkraineGate slides into the spot where RussiaGate once stood, the Democrats have somehow drummed up even more support for impeaching the President.  This time they are focused on a whistleblower complaint filled with secondhand information and hearsay – at least according to the President.

Their most prevalent weapon in this fight has been their subpoena power.  In an effort to call Congress’ bluff, the White House indicated that they would not be cooperating with the investigation until Speaker Nancy Pelosi calls a vote on impeachment.

This hasn’t stopped the Democrats from spraying subpoenas in all directions over the course of the last several hours.

Congressional Democrats issued subpoenas to the Pentagon and the White House budget office on Monday as part of their impeachment inquiry, seeking documents related to U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to withhold military assistance from Ukraine.

“The committees are investigating the extent to which President Trump jeopardized national security by pressing Ukraine to interfere with our 2020 election and by withholding military assistance provided by Congress to help Ukraine counter Russian aggression, as well as any efforts to cover up these matters,” according to a statement from three House of Representatives panels leading the inquiry.

Before issuing their first subpoena of this new “inquiry”, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff warned the White House that any attempts to “stonewall” their investigation would result in additional articles of impeachment for obstruction of Congress.

President Trump has repeatedly asserted no wrongdoing had taken place during his conservations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
