Over the weekend, the progressive base poured into the streets—or at least into their most insulated blue enclaves—for what they billed as a “national” protest against Elon Musk and President Donald Trump. The turnout? More theatrical than threatening. The message? Muddled, scripted, and in many cases, downright embarrassing.
Let’s be clear: this wasn’t some grassroots uprising. It wasn’t a “Tea Party” moment, nor anything close to a political groundswell. It was a coping session dressed up in protest signs. People walked around with severed Trump heads held by Lady Liberty impersonators, anti-Musk slogans scrawled on cardboard, and—most disturbingly—swastikas waved under the guise of artistic “criticism.” That’s not protest. That’s a political tantrum from a movement that doesn’t know what it stands for anymore—only what it’s against.

But while the signs may have lacked substance, the demographics told the real story.
A noticeable portion of these protests was made up of aging activists—folks who seem to think they’re still marching against Nixon or Bush, except now they need printed cue cards to explain what they’re yelling about. One observer noted the average age and asked the obvious question: Is this the last generation of Democrat street warriors?

Tempting as it is to think so, don’t count on it.
The bad news? While the old guard is losing steam, the new recruits are no upgrade. If anything, they’re worse: radicalized, anti-American, virulently antisemitic, and often completely detached from reality. Think Greta Thunberg meets Karl Marx with a TikTok filter. They’re not aging out—they’re multiplying and mutating into something even more unhinged.

Still, the weekend’s protests weren’t a show of force. They were a showcase in futility. While Trump continues to bulldoze the bureaucracy and Musk exposes the rotting underbelly of state-subsidized media and surveillance, the Left’s response is cosplay activism and choreographed outrage. The rest of the country? They’ve tuned out the noise and moved on.
And if this is the resistance, then the swamp should sleep very uneasily. Because while the Right is focused on results—border security, energy independence, deregulation, and economic revival—the Left is busy drawing Hitler mustaches on yard signs and screaming at billionaires who build rockets.
