As the COVID-19 pandemic looked ready to shift into the endemic stage, a number of quick, flurry-like spikes in cast counts have plagued the nation…no pun intended.
The omicron variant, (and it’s own particularly strange sub-variants), have been spreading throughout the nation like wildfire. The positive caveat is that, for the most part, these strains of the once-mighty virus appear to have turned a bit milder in their delivery.
Of course, the elderly and other at-risk patients will still need to monitor their symptoms and keep a keen eye on their health – including US President Joe Biden, who came down with the virus just days ago.
The president’s physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor released a note Sunday outlining Biden was improving although he still had a sore throat.
“This is most likely a result of lymphoid activation as his body clears the virus, and is thus encouraging,” the note read.
Biden also experienced symptoms of a runny nose, cough, and body aches and continues to have a hoarse voice, the doctor noted.
And that wasn’t all:
O’Connor also revealed that Biden uses an albuterol inhaler to treat his cough.
The White House was quick to point out that the inhaler was a new addition to the Biden health regimen, hoping to avoid any further health or age scandals with the septuagenarian Commander in Chief.
