Donald Trump Jr. managed to mash together two very different news cycles on Thursday — and ignite a fresh round of online chatter — with a single photoshopped image.
The post, shared to his social media accounts, depicted President Donald Trump on the White House roof tossing a bright green dildo toward a group of female basketball players below. “Posted without further comment,” Trump Jr. wrote.
The digitally altered image tied together two recent viral moments: last week’s now-infamous green dildo toss during a WNBA game between the Golden State Valkyries and the Atlanta Dream, and the president’s own surprise rooftop appearance earlier this week.
Remember these are the same people who bash trans people because they care about ‘women’s sports’. Er, ok. https://t.co/SbqpAR56cR

The WNBA incident had already become a running subplot in sports news. Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham, who had publicly urged fans to “stop throwing dildos on the court,” was struck by one just days later — prompting a chorus of player and coach statements condemning the behavior as unsafe and disrespectful.
Meanwhile, Trump’s roof walk on Tuesday, captured live by reporters who shouted questions like “Sir, why are you on the roof?” became its own curiosity. The president offered no public explanation at the time, leaving the moment ripe for parody.
A reminder yet again that the people who position themselves as the “defenders of women’s sports” when attacking trans people actually hate women’s sports and female athletes https://t.co/eUGY0K415Q

Trump Jr.’s mashup garnered over 80,000 likes on Instagram, along with a mix of reactions. Some applauded the absurdist humor; others criticized it as juvenile or hypocritical.
“So funny! Now RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES,” read the top-liked Instagram comment. Zeteo editor-in-chief and former MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan used the post to jab at conservative rhetoric, writing, “Remember these are the same people who bash trans people because they care about ‘women’s sports’. Er, ok.”
