The Democrats seem poised to really step on the gas in the coming days, particularly as it pertains to the idea of impeaching President Donald Trump, and Republican Senator Lindsey Graham may have just instilled an even more powerful sense of urgency within his opposing party.
That’s because Graham just dropped a bombshell on the political world.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., told Fox News Wednesday that Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report on allegations of a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant abuse during the 2016 election will be released on Dec. 9.
During an appearance on “Hannity” Wednesday, host Sean Hannity noted Horowitz will be coming before Graham’s committee on Dec. 11 to testify on the matter and went on to ask Graham not to allow a Friday night document “dump” that could muffle the coverage of the news.
In response, Graham smiled and nodded.
“It’ll be December 9th — you’ll get the report,” the South Carolina lawmaker said.
This report is excepted to detail a vast conspiracy against then-candidate Trump, in which disreputable information was bought and paid for by the Democratic National Committee that was then used to secure a FISA warrant against members of the current president’s 2016 campaign team.
The scandal surrounding this investigation, known as “SpyGate”, has been a rallying point for the Republican Party, who believe that the basis for the warrant’s approval was wholly inappropriate and unverifiable, thus making the investigation into the Trump campaign’s action completely inexcusable.
With Democrats currently debating their path forward on impeachment, Graham’s announcement may be the bee in the bonnet, so to speak, and could help to move the nation forward by speeding up the end of this impeachment fiasco. That’s because the evidence within this IG report appears to possess the ability to vastly sway the sentiment of the American electorate regarding President Trump and his fight against “the swamp”.
