The sort of hyperbole that we’re seeing surrounding the 2020 election is simply unheard of in the modern era. ‘Fake news’ may very well be the new ‘muckraking’, but I’ll be damned if there isn’t a whole other level of shady stuff going on these days.
Worse still, it appears as though the nation has already acquiesced to the fact that we won’t know the results of the contest for days, maybe weeks after voting day. There will undoubtedly be lawyers involved, and disputes abound.
Perhaps this is why Hillary Clinton is suggesting that Joe Biden simply refuse to concede to Donald Trump – no matter what.
From a recent interview:
“We have to have poll workers and I urge people who are able to be a poll worker. We have to have our own teams of people to counter the force of intimidation that the Republicans and Trump are going to put outside polling places, this is a big organizational challenge,” she said.
“But at least we know more about what they’re going to do. And Joe Biden should not concede under any circumstances,” she continued as Palmieri raised her hands in joy, “Because I think this is going to drag out and eventually I do believe he will win if we don’t give an inch.”
Of course, there is a great irony in this but of tactical guidance, as Clinton herself was caught with her pants down in 2016, having not even written a concession speech to give should she lose the election.
