House Democrats Send Letter To Trump Administration Regarding Musk’s Position

It’s official: Elon Musk has replaced Donald Trump as the Left’s favorite punching bag — and considering the relentless hate Trump’s endured for nearly a decade, that’s saying something.

According to a new report from Axios, House Democrats are launching a campaign to force Musk out of his federal advisory role with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), where he’s been helping spearhead administrative streamlining and regulatory rollbacks under the Trump administration.

Seventy-seven Democrats signed a letter demanding Musk’s immediate removal by May 30, citing federal rules that limit “special government employees” to 130 days of service unless they fully divest from their private ventures — in Musk’s case, Tesla, SpaceX, and X.

But here’s the catch: they’re wrong on the law.

The Trump administration may rely on an existing Office of Government Ethics (OGE) memo from the Biden era — ironically — that states unpaid travel days don’t count toward the 130-day threshold. That’s enough to undercut the entire campaign, which appears to be little more than political theater dressed as an ethics crusade.

This isn’t about ethics. It’s about vengeance.

Musk was once a darling of the Left — a Silicon Valley innovator, a climate champion, even a donor to Democrat candidates. But then he left the reservation: he bought Twitter (now X), pulled the plug on censorship, called out government overreach, and began working with Trump to tear down the bloated bureaucracies Democrats rely on for control.

For that, he must be destroyed.

And make no mistake — this isn’t some backroom legal move. It’s a public smear campaign, designed to get headlines, gin up the activist base, and make Musk toxic by association. That’s the Left’s go-to tactic: can’t win the argument, so attack the person.

But as always, the execution is embarrassingly tone-deaf.

Just look at last weekend’s “anti-Elon” protest. It was the usual crowd of angry urbanites clutching signs they couldn’t explain, some even pulling out printed talking points when questioned by reporters. No message, no clarity — just raw tribal fury. And the American public tuned out, because frankly, nobody cares.

Here’s the real irony: Musk is getting results. The DOGE initiative is already uncovering waste, fraud, and abuse at historic levels, from taxpayer-funded drag shows in Ecuador to jaw-dropping corruption in local nonprofits. He’s doing exactly what the federal government has refused to do for decades — clean house.

That’s what has Democrats panicking. Not the 130-day rule. The results.

And they know Trump won’t flinch. He’s not going to push Musk out because a few career politicians wrote a letter. If anything, it’ll make the White House double down.
