IRAN ATTACKS! Ballistic Missiles Fired at Sleeping US Soldiers at Multiple Bases

It looks unfortunately likely that our nation will find itself in a conflict with the Persian nation of Iran.

These war drums have been beating for decades, of course, beginning all the way back in the 1950’s after the US played a major role in the removal of the shah of Iran.  In the ensuing 60-odd years, things have only gotten worse, with a recent flareup of tensions arriving alongside President Donald Trump.

Then came a US drone strike that killed Iran’s General Qasem Soleimani just days ago, that has now prompted a serious and possibly deadly response from Iran.

Iran fired as many as 15 ballistic missiles into Iraq, targeting U.S. military and coalition forces early Wednesday, officials said, in a major retaliation by the rogue regime after the U.S. airstrike that killed Iranian Quds Force Gen. Qassem Soleimani last week.

Ten missiles hit Al-Assad Air Base, one missile hit a military base in Erbil and four missiles failed to hit their targets, according to a U.S. military spokesman for Central Command, responsible for American forces in the Middle East. The attacks unfolded in two waves, each about an hour apart.

Initial assessments showed “no U.S. casualties,” a U.S. military official in Baghdad told Fox News.

President Trump tweeted a response late Tuesday evening: “All is well! Missiles launched from Iran at two military bases located in Iraq. Assessment of casualties & damages taking place now. So far, so good! We have the most powerful and well equipped military anywhere in the world, by far! I will be making a statement tomorrow morning.”

As of this writing, no American casualties have been reported in the attacks, and Iran appears to be insinuating that they would be willing to end hostilities now, should the US do the same.

This story will be developing for some hours, or even days to come.
