Well, here we go again—another day, another unhinged rant from the Left.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) took to X (formerly Twitter) this Sunday, railing against “extreme MAGA Republicans” and demanding that “we must stop them.” Sounds like the usual talking points, right? Except Jeffries decided to drop this gem one hour after former President Donald Trump survived his second assassination attempt. Yes, you read that right—Trump had just dodged gunfire at his West Palm Beach golf course, and instead of denouncing violence, Jeffries is busy fanning the flames of political hysteria.

Apparently, in Jeffries’ world, the real threat isn’t the fact that someone was literally caught hiding in the bushes with an AK-47 at Trump’s golf club. Nope, the real boogeyman is MAGA Republicans and their supposed plans for a national abortion ban and “Project 2025.” And what exactly is “Project 2025”? A policy roadmap designed to, you know, actually fix the country and restore American values. But leave it to Jeffries to twist that into a rallying cry for more divisive rhetoric.
Meanwhile, Trump’s campaign was still catching its breath after announcing the former president was safe following the gunfire. His communications director, Steven Cheung, put out a statement confirming Trump was unharmed, and law enforcement later revealed that an AK-47 had been found stashed in the bushes. But Jeffries? Crickets. He couldn’t even take a moment to denounce the violence before launching into another tired political attack.
Let’s take a step back here—this is the second time someone has tried to assassinate Donald Trump in recent months. The first attempt was in July, during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Trump was shot in the ear—yes, shot—and only survived because he happened to turn his head at just the right moment. Sadly, that attempt resulted in the tragic death of former fire chief Corey Comperatore, and two other innocent rally attendees were gravely injured.
And what was the fallout from that horrifying event? The U.S. Secret Service took a well-deserved beating for its failure to prevent the attack. Director Kimberly Cheatle ended up resigning after a brutal congressional hearing, where she couldn’t—or wouldn’t—answer key questions about how they let something like this happen. But here we are again, months later, with another assassination attempt on Trump’s life. And instead of taking a serious look at why violence is escalating, Democrats like Jeffries are more interested in demonizing their political opponents.
.@kayleighmcenany: If you had believed the rhetoric of the Left, you believe Donald Trump is someone who wants a ‘bloodbath,’ Donald Trump ‘praised a Neo-Nazi’ — BOTH FALSE.

Here’s a thought: Maybe, just maybe, the constant drumbeat of “MAGA Republicans are the enemy” from figures like Jeffries is contributing to this toxic environment. After all, it’s not hard to connect the dots. When you spend every waking moment painting half the country as some sort of existential threat, don’t be surprised when the fringe elements take that message and run with it—straight to violence.

But, of course, that’s not part of the narrative the Left wants to talk about. Instead, they’ll keep screaming about how Republicans are the real danger while conveniently ignoring the fact that political violence is on the rise—and it’s not coming from the people wearing red hats. How many more times does Trump need to narrowly escape death before the media and the Democrats start taking this seriously? Or are they too busy “stopping MAGA” to care?
