The FBI’s unprecedented raid on Mar-a-Lago has renewed fears that the DOJ could take a rather significant step against former President Donald Trump – one that some believe could bring political violence back to our country.
Over the course of the last few weeks, many pundits and politicians have been making quiet claims that Donald Trump has broken the law by bringing certain US government documents to his Florida home. Trump and his allies disagree, however, suggesting that the Biden administration is merely using these law enforcement agencies to wreak havoc on the presumptive 2024 Republican candidate’s chances at reelection.
The two differing opinions on the matter could bring some real trouble to the streets of America according to Senator Lindsey Graham.
“If there is a prosecution of Donald Trump for mishandling the classified information after the Clinton debacle, which you presided over and did [a] hell of a good job, there will be riots in the streets,” Graham said to Gowdy, who was a leading GOP investigator of Clinton when he was in Congress.
The senator repeated the same line at the end of the interview after being asked about the district attorney in Fulton County, Georgia, seeking his testimony in a Trump-focused investigation over the 2020 election, adding, “I worry about our country.” Graham and Gowdy also discussed the treatment of stories about Hunter Biden in the run-up to the 2020 election and whistleblower allegations, including those claiming the FBI slow-walked its investigation into his laptop.
The prediction had some on Twitter up in arms, believing that Graham was somehow threatening America with violence as opposed to simply making a prediction.
