ICYMI: Man Attempts to Rob Walmart During ‘Shop With a Cop’ Day

When it comes to criminal activity in the United States, there certainly is no shortage of boneheaded moves, with a vast number of these foolhardy actions coming from the great state of Florida.

This week was no exception, as the attempted robbery of a Walmart store just so happened to occur on the worst possible day for our would-be criminal.

A 40-year-old Florida man was arrested Thursday as he allegedly tried to rob a Walmart in which nearly 40 sheriff’s deputies were present for “shop with a cop” day.

The Miami Herald reported the incident occurred at Walmart in Osceola, Florida.

The “shop with a cop” event is designed to “[help] families in need buy necessities with the help of police officers.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office used a Facebook post to announce the alleged robbery attempt, referring to the robbery suspect simply as “Brad”.

At the time of the robbery, there were nearly 40 deputies inside of the retail store.

According to reports, the suspect was attempting to steal gloves and perfume, among other things.
