They may not realize it yet but Trump has just put Democrat leaders in a catch 22.
The federal crackdown in DC has been very successful and now the President is considering doing something similar in cities like Chicago. Since then, Illinois officials have condemned the President claiming he’s a dictator.
However, when push comes to shove cracking down on crime is an 80-20 issue. Most Americans approve of it and we’ve even seen DC residents (some reluctantly) admit Trump’s crackdown is good for the city.
Now there are some serious constitutional issues to Trump deploying the Guard in Chicago and the Illinois AG is ready to boot Trump out and they’ll probably win.
But, it won’t matter, Trump has gotten the Dems to support violent crime rather than clean up their own house. The optics are simple, Dem leaders refuse to clean up the cities and won’t even let Trump do it for them. The President has the Dems right where he wants them.
Now, the media knows this and is trying to get people like Brandon Johnson to say that he’ll deploy more police to at least look like he cares.
Watch the clip below, Scarborough was desperately trying to get Johnson to thwart Trump and increase police. Johnson wouldn’t budge and Scarborough knows no matter what happens in the courts Trump wins this issue every time.
