MITCH SLIPS! Longtime GOP Stalwart Hospitalized After…

With the Republican Party struggling to determine who will truly lead the organization as we head into the meat and potatoes of the 2024 presidential race, the last thing that the nation needs is for experienced politicians to start incapacitating themselves.

But this appears to be the unfortunate reality this week, after longtime Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell finds himself in the hospital after a devastating accident.

McConnell was attending a private dinner at a hotel in the nation’s capital when he tripped, Spokesman David Popp confirmed to Fox News Digital.

The 81-year-old politician was taken to an area hospital to be treated. The extent of his injuries, if any, were not immediately known.

The Senator’s team released a terse statement.

“This evening, Leader McConnell tripped at a local hotel during a private dinner. He has been admitted to the hospital where he is receiving treatment.”

This isn’t the first time that McConnell has been injured during his time in office.

The senator suffered a fractured shoulder during a fall in August 2019. Popp at the time said McConnell tripped and fell while he was outside on a patio at his Louisville home.

McConnell’s fall will likely add fuel to the fire of younger Republicans who’ve been clamoring for a changing of the GOP guard for some time.
