NYC Turns to Warzone as Military Personnel Called in For Virus Duty

In the deeper, darker corners of the internet, you can find some fairly outlandish theories about what is really going on in the world.

For individuals engaging in any number of these conspiracy-laden forums, it’s not about who’s running the world, but more about who’s running the person that’s running the world.

Many of those who subscribe to the belief in some sort of illuminati will cite evidence of a plan to bring martial law to our nation, for reasons unclear to anyone but themselves.

Well, it looks like some of them may have been onto something.

New York’s governor has announced that troops will be sent into a town north of the city in an attempt to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

The National Guard will deliver food to quarantined individuals in New Rochelle, where a one-mile (1.6km) “containment zone” will be enforced.

The area has seen “the largest cluster” of US cases, Andrew Cuomo said as he announced the measures on Tuesday.

There are at least 900 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the US so far.

New York state has 173 active cases, the most in the US, and 108 of them are in Westchester County where New Rochelle is located.

America has seen a rise in coronavirus cases over the course of the last few days, but still ranks fairly low in overall impact when compared to the rest of the world.
