In a recent report published by Tablet online magazine, author David Samuels delves into the alleged behind-the-scenes influence of former President Barack Obama in the current administration of President Joe Biden. The article, titled “The Obama Factor,” explores a range of topics, shedding light on aspects that were often overlooked during Obama’s 2008 campaign and presidency.
According to the report, Obama is said to be orchestrating key decisions in the Biden White House through an army of Obama administration alumni. The article highlights an interview with civil rights historian and Obama biographer David Garrow, who claims that Obama’s involvement is akin to serving as a third-term president in all but name.
The report recalls Obama’s own words in which he expressed a desire for a stand-in or front person who could deliver his lines while he remained behind the scenes, controlling the government from his iPhone. This purported arrangement has raised concerns about a lack of transparency and congressional oversight in executive decision-making.
“I used to say if I can make an arrangement where I had a stand-in or front man or front woman, and they had an earpiece in, and I was just in my basement in my sweats looking through the stuff, and I could sort of deliver the lines while someone was doing all the talking and ceremony,” he told Steven Colbert in 2015, “I’d be fine with that because I found the work fascinating.”
One of the most crucial aspects addressed in the report is Obama’s involvement in advising Biden on the potential dangers of a Trump candidacy in 2024. The authors point out that Obama’s engagement in public advocacy is often presented in a sanitized manner, avoiding the complexities of having an individual with no constitutional role influencing executive decisions.
Critics have also raised concerns about Obama’s signature domestic policy achievement, Obamacare, which the authors allege was a “fraud.” Additionally, they criticize Obama’s foreign policy record, particularly regarding Syria and Russia, labeling him a failed president in this regard.
The Iran nuclear deal also comes under scrutiny, as it involves several of Obama’s former staff members working to protect his legacy. The authors speculate that Obama’s strategy of boosting Iran as a regional power may be connected to a sense of resentment toward Jewish self-determination, stemming from envy of black communal identity rather than antisemitism.
According to Samuels, Obama’s public persona is a literary creation of himself, where he authored the novel of his own life and then proceeded to live out this fictional character. The report also touches on the controversial topic of Birtherism, with claims that Obama’s reluctance to produce his “long-form” birth certificate may have been motivated by a desire to maintain an image of exotic otherness.
Breitbart News previously suggested that Birtherism may have inadvertently originated from Obama himself, as a way to present a more exotic version of his life story to build a following as an aspiring writer.
The article’s allegations are bound to spark further debates in the current political landscape, particularly on issues of transparency, accountability, and the extent of Obama’s influence in shaping the Biden administration’s policies. As the report continues to make waves, the public is left to grapple with the complexities of a former president’s role in current political affairs.
This interview is wild — and it’s amazing that the media covered all this up or ignored it for literally a decade and a half at this point https://t.co/4V07XMbBbF
