In a revelation that echoes some of the darkest chapters in the politicization of intelligence, newly declassified FBI documents now suggest that Senator Adam Schiff—long a key architect of the Trump-Russia collusion narrative—allegedly directed the leaking of classified information to undercut President Donald Trump in the critical early days following the 2016 election.
The explosive details stem from multiple FBI interviews with a whistleblower who once worked alongside Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee. These interviews, summarized in memos and declassified by FBI Director Kash Patel, paint a troubling picture of how intelligence may have been deliberately weaponized for political ends. If substantiated, these claims don’t just raise ethical questions—they cut to the core of whether trust in Congress’s oversight of intelligence has been dangerously compromised.

According to the whistleblower, Schiff convened a meeting after Trump’s victory and reportedly told those present that leaking classified material derogatory to Trump would be the means to indict the President. That’s not a policy dispute or an internal debate over governance. That, if accurate, represents a deliberate attempt to use classified intelligence as a political weapon—a move the whistleblower called “unethical,” “illegal,” and even “treasonous.”
The allegations go further. The FBI memos document the whistleblower’s claim that classified material began leaking almost immediately after the election and that Democrats on the Intelligence Committee believed they could topple Trump through the steady drip of damaging disclosures. The committee’s minority leadership was reportedly aware of these leaks and saw them not as breaches of protocol but as necessary steps to fix what they saw as a “constitutional crisis.”
BREAKING 🚨 US Attorney Jeanine Pirro said she will be PERSONALLY investigating Adam Schiff 🔥
“I think you know that this is my wheelhouse. The difference between me and some others is that I don’t talk about what I’m investigating”

It’s important to remember that Schiff was one of the most vocal proponents of the Trump-Russia conspiracy theory, repeatedly claiming to have seen evidence of collusion that never materialized. At the same time, media outlets ran headlines based on leaks—many later discredited—that paralleled content seen only by a few committee members. In one telling instance, a document reviewed in closed session appeared in the media “almost verbatim” just a day later. The whistleblower suspected Rep. Eric Swalwell, also on the committee, had a hand in it, noting he had “a reputation for leaking classified information.”
The underlying justification, according to the whistleblower? Schiff and his allies believed the Speech and Debate Clause would shield them from legal consequences. That clause, while critical for legislative freedom, was never meant to provide cover for potentially criminal acts such as leaking national security secrets.

Unsurprisingly, Schiff’s office has rejected the claims outright, framing the whistleblower as a disgruntled former staffer fired for cause. Yet Patel, who now oversees the declassified files, says Congress deserves to see how classified information was used—possibly abused—to shape public opinion and destabilize an elected administration.
