Pelosi Condemns Potential Biden Impeachment in MSNBC Segment

In a recent MSNBC segment, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., expressed annoyance when host Andrea Mitchell brought up the possibility of House GOP members seeking to impeach President Joe Biden over alleged connections to his son Hunter’s business dealings. Pelosi, who championed impeachment proceedings against former President Donald Trump during his term, scoffed at the notion of Biden’s impeachment and labeled it a “frivolous” and “diversionary tactic,” suggesting that Republicans have “nothing to offer the American people.”

Pelosi replied, “With all due respect to your question, this is frivolous, this is a diversionary tactic.”

She continued with the DEM’s main talking point- toting ‘Biden’s economic success’, stating, “They just can’t stand the fact we have a job report of over nearly 200,000 jobs today, that unemployment is three-and-a-half percent, that 18 straight months of unemployment under 4 percent.”

The exchange took place on Friday when Mitchell questioned Pelosi about the push by House Republicans for impeachment proceedings against President Biden based on unfounded allegations of his involvement in his son’s business affairs. Pelosi seemed perturbed by the question and tried to dismiss it, waving her hands and interjecting before Mitchell continued.

Mitchell pointed out Pelosi’s cautious approach towards initiating impeachment proceedings in the past, as she recognized the difficulty of stopping such a process once it begins. Despite the host’s persistence, Pelosi appeared disinterested in engaging with the question, stating, “With all due respect to your question, this is frivolous, this is a diversionary tactic.”

The Democratic lawmaker then shifted the conversation to highlight what she perceived as the Biden administration’s successes, particularly its economic achievements. Pelosi proudly cited the recent job report, revealing nearly 200,000 new jobs and an unemployment rate of three-and-a-half percent. She emphasized that under Biden’s leadership, the economy had seen 18 straight months of unemployment under 4 percent, with a total of 13.4 million jobs created in partnership with Congressional Democrats.

According to Pelosi, the GOP’s focus on impeachment is merely an attempt to obscure these economic accomplishments. She accused them of lacking a viable agenda for the American people, saying, “They have to change the subject and they have nothing to offer the American people in terms of jobs and the rest. They talk about it, but then they change the subject when it’s time to deliver.”

She continued by saying, “I’m so proud of the Democrats in the Congress, we fully intend to take back the House next time so we don’t have to deal with the frivolity, the waste of time of the Congress for them to go down this path.”

The former House Speaker continued to rally her party, expressing pride in the Democrats’ efforts and asserting their intentions to take back the House in the next elections. Pelosi criticized the Republican Party, expressing a wish for it to be reclaimed from what she called a “cult” of followers aligned with former President Trump.

She concluded by referencing Trump, describing him as “frivolous with the law and his puppets,” and suggesting that the Republican Party should reassess its direction and values.

“It’s really sad. I wish the Republican Party would be – somebody would take it back, that we’d have a real Republican Party. It’s up to them to decide what it is. But it shouldn’t be a cult,” Pelosi said.

“It shouldn’t be a cult to somebody frivolous with the law and his puppets,” she concluded, clearly referencing Trump.
