Republicans in Congress have been concerned for some time that, on the subject of impeachment, the fix is in.
This is likely because of the fact that the Democrats are in solid control of the House of Representatives, and have been bludgeoning the GOP over the head with secret hearings, bizarre rules, witness throttling, and more.
Reports out of The Beltway tonight seem to indicate that there will be plenty more where that came from.
House Intelligence Committee chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) is giving members of his committee just 24 hours to read and sign off on his report recommending articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump.
As Breitbart News reported Friday, House Judiciary Committee chairman Rep. Jerry Nadler has previewed the report, and suggested it will include claims of “collusion” with Russia — as well as Ukraine, Russia’s enemy.
And as reported Saturday, Schiff will provide the full report to committee members on Monday, who must sign off on Tuesday in time for the first hearing in Nadler’s committee on Wednesday, which will discuss the supposed constitutional and legal basis for impeachment.
Schiff’s antics have been downright notorious throughout the impeachment process, from reciting a fictional take on the President’s July 25th phone call , to holding clandestine depositions in the Capitol sub-basement.
This latest stunt could backfire, however, as narrowing the rules ever so staunchly in their favor could have the unintended effect of bolstering Donald Trump’s chances for re-election as the American public begins to see through what some have called a “shampeachment”.
