Snoop Dogg Comments On Trump ‘Beef’

Rapper Snoop Dogg, known for his vulgar and violent lyrics, has recently made headlines for his surprising change of heart towards former President Donald Trump. In an interview with The Sunday Times, Snoop Dogg expressed his newfound admiration and respect for Trump, stating that he has “done nothing wrong” to him. This comes as a shock to many, considering the rapper’s history of bashing Trump and even portraying his assassination in a music video.

“Donald Trump? He ain’t done nothing wrong to me,” Snoop Dogg said. “He has done only great things for me. He pardoned Michael Harris. So I have nothing but love and respect for Donald Trump.”

Snoop Dogg’s sudden change of heart towards Trump seems to have stemmed from the former President’s decision to grant clemency to Death Row Records co-founder Michael “Harry O” Harris. Harris, who had spent nearly 30 years in prison on attempted murder and drug trafficking charges, was released just before Trump left office in January 2021. Snoop Dogg, who rose to fame under the Death Row Record label, played a crucial role in advocating for Harris’s release.

The rapper’s praise for Trump’s actions did not go unnoticed, with many in the Hip Hop community and beyond commending the former President for his decision. However, it is interesting to note that Snoop Dogg failed to mention any of Trump’s other accomplishments during his time in office, such as his efforts to revitalize the economy and bring jobs back to America.

This change of heart seems to be a complete 180 from Snoop Dogg’s previous attitude towards Trump. In 2017, the rapper released a music video for his song “Lavender,” in which he depicted shooting a clown dressed as Trump in the head with a toy gun.

The video received widespread backlash for its violent and disrespectful imagery towards the President. Trump also commented on the video on Twitter at the time saying, “Can you imagine what the outcry would be if [Snoop Dogg], failing career and all, had aimed and fired the gun at President Obama? Jail time!”

In 2018, he posted a video to social media of himself smoking what appeared to be a blunt outside the White House, accompanied by a caption that read, “F*** Trump.” This behavior toward the former leader of our nation is unacceptable and unbecoming of a role model, especially toward young fans who may look up to Snoop Dogg.

Snoop Dogg’s change of heart towards Trump is purely for self-serving reasons. After all, the rapper’s career was launched under the Death Row Record label, and he still holds a stake in it. It is no surprise that he would want to remain in the good graces of Trump, who granted clemency to Harris, a former colleague of Snoop Dogg’s. This sudden change of attitude may just be a calculated move to protect his own interests.
