Well, here we are: In a time of political violence in the United States, over something that we believed, perhaps naively, that we had conquered once before.
It’s racial injustice that has our proverbial panties in a bunch. It’s systemic racism that’s grinding our gears. Many of us are out in the street, peacefully protesting some of the more obscene examples of these national scourges.
But there are some who are not peaceful. In fact, there is a small percentage of the angry American population who are actively pushing us toward Civil War, and the stories of their provocation seem to get more troublesome every day.
A man has been arrested after he was accused of firing gunshots at a crowd of President Donald Trump supporters nearby a road in South Carolina.
The man, Marquise Damarius Asomani, of Charlotte, North Carolina, was arrested on Monday when police were dispatched to the area after a call of shots fired from a vehicle, according to a statement from the Fort Mill Police Department. Police stated there were no injuries reported.
Witnesses at the scene told police that three men had driven by them numerous times making “derogatory remarks and yelling obscenities at them” from their car.
This is perhaps another case of the barely-fictional affliction known as “Trump Derangement Syndrome” rearing its ugly head, pushing the radical left toward anarchy and violence.
This isn’t the first bout of violence that has befallen our nation in recent years, and I’m afraid that it won’t be the last either.
