Trump Comments On Religion During Podcast Interview

Well, folks, it looks like Donald Trump is back at it, firing up his base with a mix of old-school patriotism, a call for more religion, and a not-so-subtle jab at his rivals. In his latest podcast appearance, Trump told Lex Fridman that what America really needs to turn things around is a good dose of religion. Yeah, because apparently, faith is what’s missing from today’s political landscape—not, say, competent leadership or sound policies.

Trump’s remarks come just weeks after surviving an assassination attempt. But instead of slowing down, he’s diving right back into the spotlight. When asked about death, he didn’t flinch. “You’re supposed to go to heaven, ideally, not hell,” Trump mused before lamenting that the country has lost its moral compass. And to him, the solution is simple: Bring back religion, and things will magically improve.

“You’re supposed to go to heaven, ideally, not hell, but you’re supposed to go to heaven if you’re good,” Trump said. “I think our country’s missing a lot of religion. I think it really was a much better place with religion.”

“It was almost a guide,” he added. “To a certain extent, it was a guide. You want to be good to people. Without religion, there are no guardrails. I’d love to see us get back to religion, more religion in this country.”

Of course, the former president didn’t stop there. He segued into some of his favorite talking points—Russia, Ukraine, and his ever-confident plan to broker peace. According to Trump, if he’s re-elected, he’ll strike a deal with Putin and put an end to the war in Ukraine. He assures us that he’s got a plan, but, like always, he’s keeping it a surprise. Because, hey, why spoil the fun?

“The world is a rough place right now, and a lot of it is the fact America has no leadership,” Trump continued.

“We have to get Ukraine done (end the war). That could end up in a Third World War.

“There is a lot of danger in the world right now, and there’s a great possibility of WWIII.”

“Here’s the problem. If I tell you how, and I’d love to do it, but if I give you plans, I’m not going to be able to use them,” he said.

“Part of it is surprise.”

Naturally, Trump didn’t miss the opportunity to throw a few jabs at Kamala Harris. He slammed her for doing “softball interviews” and accused her of being a “joke” before her sudden rise in the polls. Classic Trump—never miss a chance to mock the competition.

“She couldn’t do an interview. This is an interview where they gave her multiple-choice questions. I think she did very poorly,” he said.

“She was a joke until about six weeks ago when they felt they had to pick her.”

And for those keeping track of the Epstein saga, Trump dropped a little teaser. He’s more than willing to release Epstein’s infamous client list, claiming he never went to the island himself but hinting that others did. Whether he follows through is anyone’s guess, but it’s enough to get his supporters buzzing.
