Donald Trump’s second administration isn’t even officially underway, but it’s already making headlines with bold moves, starting with his nomination of attorney Harmeet Dhillon to a top role in the Department of Justice.
Dhillon, a fierce defender of conservative causes and a powerhouse in the legal world has been tapped to serve as Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights. And judging by Trump’s glowing Truth Social post, this pick is sending exactly the kind of message you’d expect from the President-elect: civil rights enforcement under his watch will focus on fairness, constitutional rights, and pushing back against the left’s favorite overreaches.
Harmeet has fought hard as an attorney for Project Veritas, defending our First Amendment rights as journalists and helping to secure our latest win against the worst news network, CNN.
Time to clean up the DOJ.

Let’s be real—Dhillon’s résumé reads like a checklist of progressive nightmares. She’s fought Big Tech on censorship, stood up for Christians’ rights to pray during COVID lockdowns, and taken on companies weaponizing woke policies against their employees. Add to that her role as one of the country’s top election lawyers, making sure that only legal votes count (a revolutionary concept, apparently), and you’ve got someone tailor-made to send the ACLU scrambling for their press releases.
Trump’s announcement highlighted Dhillon’s impeccable credentials, from her Dartmouth and UVA Law education to her clerkship in the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. But what really stands out is her track record. Dhillon and her firm have been on the frontlines of some of the most pivotal legal battles in recent years, including representing The Daily Wire in its successful fight to block Biden’s COVID vaccine mandate for private employers. Let’s not forget her challenge to Ronna McDaniel for the RNC chair—a gutsy move in a party that doesn’t always reward boldness.
And now, Dhillon is stepping into a role that will put her at the center of Trump’s civil rights agenda. Critics, no doubt, will clutch their pearls at the idea of a conservative spearheading civil rights enforcement. But if you’re tired of seeing “civil rights” redefined to include things like forcing small businesses to bake cakes against their convictions or labeling parents as domestic terrorists for showing up at school board meetings, Dhillon’s nomination is a breath of fresh air.
In her response, Dhillon struck a tone of gratitude and humility, paying tribute to her late father and husband while expressing excitement about working alongside Trump’s pick for Attorney General, Pam Bondi. With Bondi at the helm and Dhillon in this critical role, the DOJ is shaping up to look a lot less like a progressive activist hub and a lot more like an institution focused on actual justice.
Of course, the usual suspects will likely frame Dhillon as a threat to democracy or some other over-the-top accusation. But the reality is that Dhillon’s appointment represents a return to enforcing laws as written, rather than bending them to fit a political agenda. From election integrity to religious freedom, Dhillon’s record speaks for itself.

As Trump’s administration prepares to kick into high gear, one thing is clear: the days of the DOJ prioritizing woke narratives over the Constitution are over. Dhillon’s nomination signals a shift back to basics—enforcing civil rights laws fairly, upholding the Constitution, and ensuring that government power is used to protect citizens, not control them. For anyone tired of watching activist bureaucrats run the show, that’s reason enough to celebrate.
