We need to remember to think about the mainstream media outrage machine like a funnel. It takes all of the emotions we’re bombard with throughout the day and condenses them down into a few hours of infuriating primetime television meant to make us feel something.
It doesn’t have to be a “good” or “bad” emotion, but just any emotion. On a base level, our brain is simply responding to stimulus with chemicals and we as human beings are benignly addicted to that. That’s why it feels good to cry and it feels good to vent to a friend. Our bodies respond to fender benders and rollercoasters in much the same way, but our interpretation of these events drives an entirely different experience.
So, when the mainstream media makes you mad, or they make you proud, or scared, or sad, your body is telling you give me more of this. Eventually, we find ourselves distilling the experience along with the content down to a simple, simple message.
For Mary Trump, niece to the President, this sharpening of the cacophony spit out one word: Resign.
Speaking about her influential uncle for the first time since the publication of her explosive new book, Mary Trump — President Donald Trump’s niece — on Tuesday called on the president to step down.
“If you’re in the Oval Office today, what would you say to him?” ABC News chief anchor George Stephanopoulos asked her in an exclusive interview.
“Resign,” Mary Trump responded.
She said that, after being “perverted” by the family’s deep-seated “issues,” her uncle was destined to become a man “utterly incapable of leading this country, and it’s dangerous to allow him to do so.”
Mary Trump’s book comes just weeks after another memoir unfavorable to the President was released by former national security adviser John Bolton.
If one wished to be sarcastic about it, you could even imagine that perhaps there was an election forthcoming, given all the money these publishers are spending to demean The Donald.
