Trump Takes Early Shot at DeSantis After Gubernatorial Win

It is becoming rather hard to deny that there will be friction between Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis over the course of the next two years, and both the former President and the Florida Governor appear to be posturing themselves for a run at the White House in 2024.

Trump is said to be contemplating his official announcement next Tuesday – a possibility that may get pushed back on account of the Georgia Senate runoff race that won’t conclude until December 6th.

DeSantis, on the other hand, has made no mention of any official announcement, preferring to handle his potential candidacy quietly and out of sight.

Trump isn’t one to let this sort of thing slide, however, and is already taking shots at DeSantis just a day after he won reelection in the Sunshine State.

Former President Donald Trump lashed out at Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis over his voter support on Wednesday, just one day after the Republican governor pulled off a historic, 20-percentage point victory in the state.

Trump, as usual, did not mince his words.

“Now that the election in Florida is over, and everything went quite well, shouldn’t it be said that in 2020, I got 1.1 Million more votes in Florida than Ron D got this year, 5.7 Million to 4.6 Million? Just asking?” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.

Trump is said to be privately fuming over the idea that DeSantis could run for office, believing that any challenge to his status as the presumptive GOP nominee for 2024 would be considered “disloyal” to the political juggernaut and the MAGA Movement as a whole.
