White House Now Playing Media Game with 2024 Comment

There are a few rare times throughout the political calendar that the average American can really see behind the curtain.  Rare moments when just enough of the beast below breeches the surface for us to see their true stripes, as the depths of Capitol Hill’s backdoor dealings slide off the skin of the governmental leviathan like inky waves off the shining skin of Moby damn Dick himself.

This week, the exposed underbelly of the beast came to us in the form of bickering between the Democratic Party and its President, Joe Biden, as to whether or not the aging and blunder-prone septuagenarian should run again in 2024.

Earlier in the week, Democratic strategists left no doubt about the fact that they don’t see him fit anymore, and a day later Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez dances around the Biden ’24 question more nervously than in that one strange YouTube clip of her dancing on a rooftop.

Now, almost immediately, the White House has worked in a reminder of his plans to run again.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre fired off a message on social media about the president’s political plans for the future.

“To be clear, as the President has said repeatedly, he plans to run in 2024,” she wrote on Monday evening.

The White House has been on the defensive of late.

Earlier Monday, Jean-Pierre tried to ward off questions about the president’s future political plans by alluding to the Hatch act.

“I cannot talk about elections, I cannot be a political analyst from here, or the midterms or anything like that including 2024,” she said during the White House press briefing when asked by a reporter about Biden’s political future.

And just like that, the tension of the Democratic Party is exposed to the nation at large, revealing where the back-of-house dysfunction live within the party, and whom is and isn’t talking to whom.
