The situation in Ukraine is rapidly deteriorating for all involved, as Russia grows ever more desperate for a victory or two.
Previously one of the most-feared armies on the planet, Russia’s troops have been wholly decimated by the Ukrainian counter-force, which has consisted not only of traditional military units but also of ordinary civilians. Morale is extraordinarily low for Moscow’s soldiers, who’ve been surrendering or deserting their duty in unprecedented numbers.
This has Vladimir Putin’s back against the wall, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that things could get even worse if the Kremlin continues to suffer such humiliation.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned of a third world war if peace talks with Russia fail during a television interview that aired Sunday.
Zelenskyy said that “any format” should be used in order to have a possibility of negotiating with Russia, in particular Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“I think that we have to use any format, any chance in order to have a possibility of negotiating, possibility of talking to Putin. But if these attempts fail, that would mean that this is a third World War,” Zelenskyy said.
Any time that Russia finds itself in a major conflict, there is talk of World War III – particularly within the sensationalist media.
Hearing such tactics terms from a world leader, however, has many wondering if this could be the real deal.
