Hello folks. Well, if you thought the left was going to let Donald Trump hand out a few McDonald’s fries in peace, think again. Over the weekend, the former president decided to channel his inner fast-food worker at a McDonald’s drive-thru in Pennsylvania. What followed was nothing short of a collective meltdown from Democratic leaders and their media cheerleaders. Apparently, flipping a few burgers is now considered a political crime worthy of nationwide condemnation.
Enter Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the “Squad” leader herself, who had some choice words for Trump. According to AOC, Trump was “making fun” of hardworking Americans by even pretending to work at McDonald’s. She told supporters that Trump had never worked a day in his life, never wiped down a table, or punched a clock. Ah, the old “Trump is out of touch” routine. But here’s the thing—this line of attack just doesn’t land when Trump’s supporters are those everyday Americans AOC claims to champion.
Trump is scared.
Elon is scared.
JD Vance is scared. And I don’t know about you, but I don’t want a couple of coward billionaires calling the shots in America.
I want someone who is going to fight for a $15 minimum wage, take on income inequality, and fight for working people. pic.twitter.com/nYas9GcbV1

And let’s not forget the pearl-clutching from MSNBC, CNN, and the rest of the liberal media establishment. They were quick to label the McDonald’s event “staged,” as if no political event has ever been pre-planned in the history of mankind. MSNBC host Rachel Maddow claimed Trump “pretended” to work at McDonald’s, while Morning Joe accused him of pushing “phony McDonald’s sales.” Yes, because apparently, the greatest threat to our democracy right now is Trump mishandling a McDonald’s french fry carton.
Of course, late-night comedians like Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Fallon couldn’t resist mocking Trump, calling his McDonald’s stint “blue-collar drag” and the first time he’s run a “successful business.” Funny how these same comedians didn’t have much to say when Vice President Kamala Harris was searching for Doritos at a gas station in her own staged photo-op. But Trump handing out some fries? Outrage!
And then there’s The Atlantic, which published a piece calling Trump’s McDonald’s appearance “grotesquely embarrassing mummery.” Really? Did we suddenly enter a parallel universe where shaking hands and interacting with regular voters is now considered grotesque? But hey, if Kamala Harris hosts a town hall where no one is allowed to ask questions, that’s just fine. No harm, no foul, right?
The media circus surrounding this event was so over-the-top that even Jon Stewart, no fan of Trump, had to step in and mock the outrage. He rightfully pointed out that maybe the media should focus on something other than whether Trump can work a McDonald’s fryer.
And let’s get one thing straight: This wasn’t some empty stunt. Republican Gov. Kristi Noem hit the nail on the head when she said Trump’s visit resonated because he doesn’t think he’s better than the average American. Democrats, on the other hand, seem to think that any effort to connect with working-class voters is beneath them.
The fact that the left is so rattled by Trump handing out some fries at McDonald’s speaks volumes. The truth is that Trump knows how to connect with everyday Americans, and that scares the Democratic elites to their core. They can’t stand the idea that someone they despise so much actually understands what makes working-class America tick.
So, while the media froths at the mouth over a few french fries, Trump is out there doing what he does best—rallying his base and reminding voters that he’s on their side. And the left? Well, they’re just flipping out.
