Despite our Founding Fathers’ very clear instructions regarding the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, modern day politicians and private influence-aggregators continue to denigrate the liberty that we were promised by these sacred documents.
The First Amendment, for example, has been trampled by Twitter and other social media mavens after they transferred the “public square” to their private online spaces. Now, with the click of a button, millions of users can be shadowbanned, suppressed, oppressed, or outright removed for their political or social beliefs, all because the CEO of the week doesn’t agree with them.
Then there’s the Second Amendment, which very clearly “shall not be infringed”, but has come under attack anyway. In this case, the liberal left has chosen the route of annoyance, making it ever more difficult, complicated, and expensive to bear arms.
This week the White House pushed yet another layer of infringement, infuriating freedom-minded Americans everywhere.
President Biden said in a speech on Wednesday that he’s going to ban assault weapons and high capacity magazines “come hell or high water.”
Biden made the comments at the House Democratic Caucus Issues Conference in Baltimore, Maryland, on Wednesday night.
The President was adamant.
“I know it may make some of you uncomfortable,but that little state above me, Delaware is one of them, hasthe highest rate, one of the highest rates of gun ownership. But guess what? We’re going to ban assault weapons again come hell or high water and high capacity magazines. When we did it last time to reduce mass deaths,” Biden said.
This is far from the first time that Biden has suggested the outright banning of so-called “assault” weapons, having previously threatened Americans with the US military should they attempt to protect their freedoms.
