Couple Charged With Running Prostitution Ring

What began as a local prostitution investigation in a small Texas community has widened into a sprawling case involving law enforcement, public officials, and a married couple now both facing serious criminal charges.

Ashley Ketcherside, a mother of three who initially insisted she had no knowledge of her husband’s alleged activities, was arrested Wednesday on racketeering charges. Her arrest comes just days after her husband, Michael Ketcherside, was taken into custody on April 8 for allegedly operating a long-running prostitution ring out of their home.

At the time of his arrest, Ashley publicly defended her husband, describing him as a devoted father and expressing confidence in the justice system. She also denied any involvement in the alleged operation. But investigators now claim a deeper level of participation, alleging she played an active role in recruiting and preparing women for prostitution.

According to court documents cited in local reporting, authorities uncovered evidence suggesting Ashley had prior involvement in prostitution, including two earlier convictions.

Investigators also allege she personally offered services at rates as high as $1,000 per hour, with similar figures reportedly appearing in messages recovered from a seized burner phone.

The case extends beyond the couple. Several current and former members of the Godley Police Department have been implicated, including former Police Chief Matthew Cantrell and officer Solomon Omotoya. Both face charges tied to the alleged ring, with Omotoya accused of solicitation and Cantrell charged with promotion of prostitution.

Authorities allege the Ketchersides hosted gatherings at their home involving police officers and others, where elements of the operation took place. In addition to the prostitution-related charges, investigators are examining potential corruption, including claims that the group collected information on perceived adversaries within local government bodies such as the city council and school board.

Ashley Ketcherside’s past involvement in community activities has also resurfaced. In 2023, she was removed from a school district committee responsible for sex education curriculum after her prior convictions became known. Reports indicate she was simultaneously active on escort websites while participating in local volunteer efforts.

Both Ketchersides are now being held on substantial bonds—$200,000 for Ashley and $450,000 for Michael—as the investigation continues to unfold. What initially appeared to be a contained criminal case has instead exposed a network that reaches into local institutions, raising questions about oversight, accountability, and how such an operation could persist for years without detection.
