Crazy Kidnapping Claims Made Against DeSantis

This is the most Florida thing ever.

You may remember Rebeka Jones, who, during the pandemic, claimed that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was cooking the books to show fewer COVID deaths in the sunshine state.

The media swarmed, hoping to take the governor down; however, Jones was exposed as a fraud. The media even tried to paint her as a martyr after she was exposed as a liar.

Well, she is at it again and the media is backing off the story as fast as they initially jumped on it.

Jones initially claimed that Governor Ron DeSantis kidnapped her son.

That thread went viral, garnering almost 12.1 million views, and she started fundraising off her claims.

The Pensacola News Journal has recently published a full report that explains what happened.

Gov. DeSantis did NOT kidnap anyone. It appears that Rebekah’s son has some mental health problems and may be a victim of being bullied.

Her son was taken into Police custody after it was reported he sent text messages threatening to do a mass shooting.

Below is the affidavit of probable cause:

The Pensacola News Journal reported:

An incident report released Thursday afternoon by the Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office allege that the 13-year-old made repeated threats to shoot up Holley Navarre Middle School and to stab students who angered him.

Investigators interviewed multiple students who spoke with the teenager, as well as those who saw messages he posted on social media. In the messages to his friends, the teenager made the following statements, among others:

“I want to shoot up the school.”

If I get a gun I’m gonna shoot up hnms lol.”

“I’m getting a wrath and natural selection shirt so maybe but I don’t think many ppl know what the columbine shooters look like.”

“Okay so it’s been like 3-4 weeks since I got on my new antidepressants and they aren’t working but they’re suppose to by now so I have no hope in getting better so why not kill the losers at school.”

The teenager told one of his friends that he planned to shoot up the school the Thursday before Spring Break but there were too many things going on so he postponed it until March 31.

After being informed by police that her son was being investigated, Jones turned him into the Sheriff’s office. After turning her son in she claimed DeSantis kidnapped him.

We aren’t trying to dump on Jones family because serious issues are happening. But she is the one who put the story out and tried to fundraise off it.
