NYC Residents Comment On Activity In District

It looks like the residents of New York’s 14th Congressional District are finally waking up to what’s happening right under their noses—and they’re none too happy about it. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), that darling of the progressive left, seems to be a little too busy making Instagram videos and pushing her latest woke agenda to notice the growing mess in her own backyard. And by mess, we’re talking crime, prostitution, and lawlessness running wild in certain parts of her district.

Residents from Corona, Jackson Heights, and Elmhurst, neighborhoods packed with migrants, are sounding the alarm. They’re fed up with the prostitution that’s taken over the streets, particularly along Roosevelt Avenue, a stretch that’s now being compared to Bangkok. And we’re not talking about a few street vendors here. According to locals, it’s become a 24/7 spectacle of migrant prostitutes, dice games, illegal street vendors, and a general free-for-all that’s turning the area into something resembling a “third world” country.

Business owners have had enough. One local shopkeeper says he’s been warned to keep quiet about the situation, and he’s even thinking about shutting down his store. Meanwhile, the residents who still call this area home are pushing their kids through crowds of prostitutes on their way to school. Yeah, you read that right. Elementary and high school students are now navigating their way through “armies of prowling prostitutes,” as Fox News described it.

And if that doesn’t raise an eyebrow, footage from Fox’s recent night patrol along “Avenue of the Sweethearts” certainly should. What they captured was nothing short of disturbing: a father pushing his young son past five scantily dressed prostitutes and a john casually strolling out of a brothel during a police raid, as if this were just another day in paradise.

So, where’s AOC in all of this? That’s the million-dollar question. While her constituents are watching their neighborhoods spiral into chaos, she’s busy championing progressive causes and tweeting about climate change. You know, the important stuff. Meanwhile, law-abiding New Yorkers are left to fend for themselves as illegal activities take over the streets.

One local activist, Ramses Frías, hit the nail on the head when he described the situation as “Bangkok with women outside locations and pulling men off the street.” He’s watched his neighborhood devolve into a hotbed of crime, and like so many others, he feels abandoned by his so-called leaders.

“This area has been run rampant with prostitution,” he said. “It’s just been out of control, and the lawlessness continues to happen. This doesn’t feel like my home. I’ve been here my whole life, and this feels like I’m a tourist in a Third World country. This is not how this is supposed to look, this is not how it’s supposed to feel.”

“This is a neighborhood and a community full of hardworking individuals, immigrants, and second-generation Americans that worked really hard to be here and are facing all this evil and all these bad things. … And it’s just causing more issues daily, and our quality of life just continues to drop,” he continued.

The truth is, this lawlessness is more than just an eyesore; it’s destroying lives and livelihoods. Hardworking residents are watching their quality of life crumble as prostitution, groping incidents on the subway, and violent crime skyrocket. And where is AOC? Nowhere to be found. For someone who claims to care so much about the people, she sure seems awfully quiet when her own constituents are begging for help.
