Roblox Reports They Removed 100 Violative Experiences Following Shooting

The fallout from the assassination of Charlie Kirk has now spilled into the virtual world, where even online gaming platforms became a flashpoint for grotesque mockery. On Thursday, Roblox confirmed it had removed more than 100 “experiences” tied to Kirk that violated its community rules.

According to a company spokesperson, Roblox moderators began spotting and deleting the content almost immediately after Kirk was fatally shot at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. The banned content reportedly included games and references that re-enacted or celebrated the murder.

“Our moderation team started seeing violative content around Charlie Kirk yesterday, and we removed over 100 experiences so far and are continuing to take action,” Roblox said in a statement to FOX Business. The company stressed that its policies forbid material that “re-enacts real-world violent or sensitive events or that promotes terrorism and hate.”

The response came after Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) raised the alarm on social media, announcing she had been informed of a Roblox game referencing Kirk’s assassination.

Luna vowed to demand accountability, writing: “I’m going to be asking Apple and the App Store to remove their app if they don’t immediately remove this, as well as contacting the Federal Communications Commission to take down their website.”

Kirk, the 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA, was shot in the neck while speaking outdoors to students as part of his American Comeback Tour. He was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries, leaving behind his wife, Erika, and their two young children.

Roblox, which has over 70 million daily users, many of them children, has long struggled with how to moderate inappropriate or dangerous content. Just last year, the company introduced new parental controls, including limits on direct messaging for under-13 accounts and tools allowing caregivers to oversee friend lists, screen time, and spending.

Still, the presence of assassination-themed content — centered on a real-world killing that stunned the nation — has reignited concerns about the platform’s ability to enforce its standards.

That hundreds of such “experiences” could appear within hours of Kirk’s death only deepens the sense that online culture has become a breeding ground for cruelty dressed up as entertainment.
