Suspect In Murder Also Had Outstanding Bench Warrant

On February 22, a promising young nursing student Laken Riley went for a routine run and never returned. This tragic story is yet another example of the dire consequences of illegal immigration and the lack of enforcement of our borders by the Biden administration.

Riley, a 23-year-old undergraduate at the University of Georgia, was reported missing by her friend after she failed to come back from her daily run. Shortly after, authorities discovered her body, and the entire community was left devastated.

But what the liberal media fails to mention is that the man responsible for this heinous crime is an illegal alien from Venezuela, Jose Antonio Ibarra. It seems like the mainstream media is allergic to reporting the reality of illegal immigration and its devastating effects. Instead, they chose to label Ibarra as an “Athens man,” downplaying his status as an illegal immigrant.

But that’s not all. As it turns out, Ibarra was arrested in New York City last year for vehicular charges and was charged with “injury to a child less than 17 and no license.” However, due to the Biden administration’s lax immigration policies, he was not deported and was allowed to roam freely in our country.

It gets worse. State House Rep. Houston Gaines revealed that Ibarra was also arrested for shoplifting in Athens in October 2023 and had an active bench warrant for his arrest since December for failing to appear in court. Yet, he was still out on the streets, free to commit this heinous crime against Riley.

The truth is, Ms. Riley’s death was entirely preventable. If the Biden administration had taken the necessary steps to secure our borders and enforce immigration laws, Ibarra would not have been able to enter our country and take the life of this bright, young student.

Sadly, this is not an isolated incident. Kate Steinle’s murder in California also highlighted the dire consequences of having an open border and failing to enforce immigration laws.

It’s time for the Biden administration to take responsibility for its role in this tragic event and start putting the safety and security of American citizens first. Our hearts go out to the Riley family, and we can only hope that justice will be served for Laken.

However, let’s not forget that this could have been prevented if our immigration laws were enforced and our borders were secure. We must demand action from our leaders to prevent more senseless tragedies like this from happening.
