Biden Campaign Spox Comments On Editorial Boards

Hello Folks. So, we’ve got some hot news about Keisha Lance Bottoms, the former Atlanta Democrat Mayor and now a senior advisor to President Joe Biden’s campaign. This week, she didn’t hold back her criticism of Georgia’s largest newspaper, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC), accusing them of meddling in the election. Let’s break it down.

On Monday, Bottoms appeared on MSNBC with Chris Jansing to talk about Biden’s recent debate performance, which, to be frank, didn’t go so well. When asked about what the advisers are telling the president, Bottoms didn’t mince words. She expressed her disappointment with the AJC’s editorial board, which had written that Biden should drop out of the race.

“As we have talked about making sure that we’re protecting elections and making sure there’s no undue influence, this was undue influence by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution or an attempt to influence,” Bottoms said. She firmly believes that voters should decide, pointing out that even though the Democratic Party did not hold primary debates, the decision should still be in the voters’ hands.

Jansing pushed back, suggesting that the editorial board was just doing its job. Bottoms countered, “Editorial boards are supposed to honor fair elections. I don’t think it’s fair when an editorial board with ten people sitting in a room are trying to influence an election, especially in a state like Georgia where there’s already been discussions about influencing elections.”

But she didn’t stop there. Bottoms brought the spotlight back onto former President Donald Trump, stating, “If you’re going to ask a candidate to step aside, let’s also look at Donald Trump’s record and all of the reasons, including his indictment in Fulton County, trying to influence the secretary of state, his convictions. Let’s put them side-by-side. I’ll take a 90-minute bad night over the totality of Donald Trump’s presidency any day of the week.”

But I’m sure she’s not biased or has anything to do with election interference…
