Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) just landed himself in a PR nightmare that could have been entirely avoided—if only he had remembered that hot mics exist. The Texas congressman was caught on tape making a shocking remark about former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, admitting that if he ever saw him in person, he’d “f*cking kill him.”
The comment came at the end of an interview with GB News’ Steven Edginton, who casually asked Crenshaw if he had ever met Carlson. “We’ve talked a lot on Twitter,” Crenshaw responded as he left the set. Then, without hesitation, he added, “If I ever meet him, I’ll f*cking kill him… he’s the worst person.”
NEW: Republican representative Dan Crenshaw caught on a hot mic saying he would “f*cking k*ll” Tucker Carlson if he ever met him.

Of course, as soon as the remark surfaced, Crenshaw did what politicians always do—deny, deny, deny. When asked by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene whether he had threatened Carlson, Crenshaw simply responded, “lol, no.”
The problem? The audio says otherwise.
Once GB News released the recording, the damage was done. Edginton, the reporter who caught the moment, wasted no time retweeting the clip, ensuring it spread far and wide. Crenshaw’s office quickly scrambled to put out a statement, insisting that the remark was not serious. A spokesperson told The Daily Caller, “No, of course not.”

But let’s be real—whether Crenshaw was joking or not, this is a terrible look. A sitting member of Congress openly saying he’d kill a prominent conservative figure is more than just a gaffe; it’s reckless. And in today’s hyper-polarized political climate, where threats and rhetoric are constantly under scrutiny, it’s the kind of statement that doesn’t just disappear.
Beyond the immediate fallout, this moment highlights something deeper: Crenshaw’s long-standing friction with Carlson and the conservative grassroots base. The Texas Republican has increasingly positioned himself as an establishment-friendly voice, at times clashing with the very voters who once saw him as a rising star in the America First movement. His feud with Carlson has been well-documented, but this takes it to another level.
