You would think jurors keep their thoughts to themselves until the gavel drops. These women did the opposite. They planned a media tour while the trial was still going on. One juror admitted they wanted to turn a murder trial into a cause.
Paula Devlin, a juror in the Lindsay Clancy case, told NBC 10 exactly what happened. She said the group discussed doing a joint interview before the trial ended. This was not a spur-of-the-moment idea. It was a plan they made while deciding the fate of three dead children.
Devlin explained their reasoning in an interview posted online this Thursday. She remarked that it never occurred to the group that they would exit the courthouse and witness such an event, referring to the sudden fame and public scrutiny.

But the plan was real. They wanted to use the courtroom as a stage.
According to RedState, this behavior tracks with what a holdout juror described. The juror labeled the group “activists” whose minds were set from day one. The plan to speak to the press proves they were focused on their message, not the law.
Devlin repeated her view that the case was about sending a signal. When asked if people were actually talking, she giggled and said, “Yes, they are.”

The goal was never just justice for the victims. It was to start a debate about postpartum psychosis. The defense argued Lindsay Clancy was not guilty by reason of insanity due to severe postpartum psychosis. Eleven jurors agreed with that view.
Patrick Clancy, the father of the three children, faced a different kind of attack. His new wife, Dr. Rachel Danis, defended him against “so twisted” conspiracy theories. She told 60 Minutes that Pat is “the most selfless father and supportive partner.”
The trial ended in a mistrial on September 4 after seven days of deliberation. The jury could not reach a unanimous decision. One holdout juror kept the group from agreeing on the insanity plea.

We should not be talking about the jurors’ feelings. Justice for the three children strangled by their own mother should be our focus. You do not send a message to criminals by excusing murder.
RedState legal expert Susie Moore noted we should not even know these jurors’ names. The system is supposed to run its course, not become a platform for a joint media tour. The father lost his children and his freedom from peace.
