Rep. Ilhan Omar’s now-viral outburst — telling a reporter to “F— off” not once, but twice — isn’t just another moment of congressional candor. It’s a window into a Democratic Party increasingly on edge, especially as its latest political crusade surrounding Kilmar Abrego Garcia crumbles under the weight of reality.
During a walk-and-talk with reporters on Capitol Hill, Myles Morell of the Daily Caller News Foundation asked Omar a legitimate and timely question: Should more Democrats be traveling to El Salvador to advocate for the release of Abrego Garcia?
🚨 Ilhan Omar just told a report to “F—ck off” when questioned about illegal aliens.

Omar’s response? “I think you should f— off.” When Morell asked her to clarify, she doubled down: “You should f— off.” And then, again: “You.”
She didn’t stop there. Later on X (formerly Twitter), she defended her meltdown, adding: “You and all your miserable trolls can f— off.”
This is no minor slip of the tongue. This is an elected member of Congress openly cursing at a reporter — in public, on video — and then bragging about it online.
I said what I said. You and all your miserable trolls can f*ck off. https://t.co/qxqqAhaIEc

Let’s be honest: if a Republican had said this, the headlines would be apocalyptic. Former Sen. Martha McSally (R-AZ) once called CNN’s Manu Raju a “liberal hack” and was immediately swarmed by a media firestorm that lasted days. But Omar? She gets a pass — or worse, applause — from corners of the press who bend over backwards to normalize her behavior.
Imagine Marjorie Taylor Greene or Lauren Boebert using that language toward a journalist. Would they be given a prime-time CNN feature on their “authenticity”? Or would they be slapped with demands to resign and accused of attacking press freedoms?
If another member, perhaps Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, reacted this way to legacy media, I’m guessing the rest of the press corps would be up in arms. https://t.co/369ltTUksM

You already know the answer.
Omar’s profane outburst is also a symptom of frustration over a growing embarrassment for the Left: the unraveling of the Kilmar Abrego Garcia narrative. Once hailed as a “Maryland dad” unjustly deported, the facts have made it impossible to maintain that illusion:
-
Multiple protective orders filed against him by his wife, citing beatings, threats, and severe abuse.
-
Affiliation with MS-13 strongly alleged in police reports.
-
Bodycam footage from a traffic stop showing him suspected of human trafficking with $1,400 in cash and a van full of undocumented migrants.
This is the man some Democrats are still defending — and Omar’s defense of him has become politically toxic. Even House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries is reportedly distancing himself from the pro-Abrego faction, yet Omar remains defiant, still championing a case that has imploded on every factual front.
