Oh, folks, you can’t make this stuff up. Democrats—yes, the same people who branded themselves as the “resistance” and spent four years shouting “democracy is at stake”—are now seeking therapy because President Trump is actually doing what he promised. Axios recently spoke with therapists who say they’re seeing an influx of distressed Democrats struggling to cope with what they call the “chaos” of Trump’s agenda. But let’s be real—”chaos” is just another word for “following through on campaign promises.”
So what exactly has these voters clutching their emotional support lattes? Well, first up, the rollback of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies, which had become a taxpayer-funded industry of racial grievance and political favoritism. Then there’s the so-called “attack” on transgender rights—which, let’s be honest, isn’t about taking anyone’s rights away, just reinforcing that biological reality and common sense still matter. And of course, climate change—another endless doomsday narrative that conveniently justifies more government control and spending.
Mental health experts are seeing an increase in patients, largely Democrats, citing burnout and despair in part to the energy required to keep up with Trump’s rapid-fire policies.https://t.co/rUEiMsN6aC

It turns out that when your entire worldview is built on government programs and identity politics, having an administration that prioritizes merit, law enforcement, and economic growth can be… unsettling. Georgetown psychology professor Andrea Bonior tells Axios that her patients are struggling to process the “chaos” of Trump’s leadership. And who are these deeply concerned individuals? Well, according to Bonior, they include federal employees worried about their job security and illegal immigrants anxious about finally facing consequences for breaking the law. In other words, two groups that have benefitted the most from unchecked government overreach.
But it gets even better. Axios notes that many Democrats are experiencing “burnout, guilt, and despair” over losing their old way of life. You mean the way of life where the government pays for everything, labels every opposing viewpoint as bigotry, and ensures that bureaucrats and activists never have to compete in the real world? That “old way of life”?
This is after three weeks.
Three. Freaking. Weeks.
After four years, they’ll be like Simon in Airplane II, just quivering blobs of Jell-O cowering in their bathrooms and refusing to ever come out. https://t.co/0XyKonp8u0 pic.twitter.com/DGpBmdGyls

And let’s not forget the coping mechanisms. Reports have surfaced of therapists advising these fragile souls to cry in groups and participate in “forest bathing”—which, if you’re unfamiliar, is basically walking through the woods while pretending it’s a profound spiritual experience.
Now, when Republicans didn’t like the direction of the country under Biden, did they break down in therapy sessions? No. They kept working, voted, and prepared to course-correct in the next election. But for the left, dealing with political loss apparently requires mental health interventions.
Even Michelle Obama stepped in to comfort her fellow Democrats, assuring them that it was normal to feel “anxious and uncertain” about the future. But here’s the reality: If you’re so emotionally dependent on a political ideology that a change in leadership sends you spiraling, the problem isn’t Trump—it’s your worldview.
