Trump Makes Interesting Announcement During Video With Local News Station

In a recent interview with a local television station at the NRA conference, President Donald Trump expressed his interest in nominating Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton as the next U.S. Attorney General. This comes as no surprise, as the two have a longstanding alliance and Texan Paxton has been an ardent supporter of Trump’s policies and actions.

“Attorney General Ken Paxton has been bravely on the front line in the fight for Texas, and America, against the vicious and very dangerous Radical Left Democrats, and the foolish and unsuspecting RINOs that are destroying our Country,” Trump said at the time. “Ken is strong on Crime, Border Security, the Second Amendment, Election Integrity and, above all, our Constitution.”

However, the liberal media tries to discredit Paxton by portraying him as controversial and divisive. Despite Trump’s endorsement, Paxton would still have to go through the confirmation process in the Senate, where he may face opposition from establishment Republicans like Senator John Cornyn.

It’s no secret that Cornyn and Paxton have clashed on several issues, with the Texan A.G. even considering a primary challenge against him in the next election cycle. But Cornyn’s disagreements with Paxton should not overshadow his impressive track record fighting for the rule of law and protecting our borders.

It’s worth noting that Paxton’s credentials and character have been questioned in the past, with Democrats and some Republicans attempting to impeach him on baseless charges. It was only through Trump’s intervention and support that Paxton was ultimately acquitted by Texas lawmakers. The former president has always stood up for true conservatives like Paxton, even when establishment Republicans like Paul Ryan tried to compromise their principles.

“Yes, it is true that my intervention through TRUTH SOCIAL saved Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton from going down at the hands of Democrats and some Republicans, headed by PAUL RINO (Ryan), Karl Rove, and others, almost all of whom came back to reason when confronted with the facts,” Trump wrote. “Ken has been a great A.G., and now he can go back to work for the wonderful people of Texas. It was my honor to have helped correct this injustice!”
